What’s on Tap

No matter where we are in the world, there’s one guaranteed way to make us feel right at home: a local craft brew. So, in cities from Melbourne to Barcelona, our hotel bar teams have searched high and low (read: tasted a lot of pints) to find the best beers from nearby breweries. The result? If it’s on tap at a Four Points, it’s not just a good beer – it’s also a taste of local flavor.

So, what are we drinking? Take a quick spin around the world with these regional specialty beers on tap at four different Four Points hotels.

Fargo

If the eponymous Coen brothers’ movie taught us anything, it’s that this small city on the North Dakota-Minnesota border isn’t as sleepy as it seems – and, these days, that goes for beer, too. With at least five craft breweries in a town of approximately 120,000, it’s a beer-lover’s paradise. At True North, the Four Points Fargo bistro and bar, we’ve got brews from two of the best outfits in town: Fargo Brewing Company’s Iron Horse Pale Ale and Stone’s Throw Scottish Ale, and Drekker Brewing Company’s Broken Rudder Irish Red Ale.

San Diego

Southern California sunshine and beach-town vibes call for kicking up your feet and chilling out with a flavorful, easy-drinking beer. In other words: ask a local. At Citrus, Four Points San Diego’s relaxed restaurant and bar, you’ll find neighbors and out-of-towners alike drinking two of the city’s favorite hometown brews. Try a pint of Ballast Point Brewing’s classic German-style Longfin Lager or take a sip of Coronado Brewing Co.’s hop-forward Islander IPA.

Melbourne

They take their brews seriously down under. So much so, in fact, that, when the Four Points by Sheraton Melbourne Docklands opened in the fall of 2017, our team held a taste-off between local breweries Mountain Goat Brewery and Two Birds Brewing to help decide which would be on tap at the new Best Brews bar first. While the selection changes regularly, some of our other on-tap favorites include Colonial Brewing Co.’s South West Sour and Henry St. Brewhouse’s Blue Billy Amber Ale.

Barcelona

While Spain’s best-known beverage might be its wine, don’t let that fool you. Spaniards love beer, too, and Barcelona, in particular, has joined the craft beer movement. The team at 4 Taps, the relaxed bar at Four Points Barcelona, sourced a lineup of more than 20 brews, but knew they could do better. So they partnered with the award-winning Edge Brewing, located in the city’s Poble Nou neighborhood, to create 4 Taps beer, an exclusive, signature lager that pairs perfectly with the kitchen’s tapas.
